    Broken Keyboard/mouse custom binding. I can remember the issue being mentioned many times previously, and even being told it had been fixed but it still is not. Even after the positive revamp. After all these years.
    The game is awkwardly playable with those awful defaults (which I never liked in ANY game) Just please let us change controls to what makes the game enjoyable and have those changes be saved? Not just immediately revert back to undesirable defaults. Is the location of the WORKING configuration files server-side? As nothing I change in any local file makes one bit of difference. The game enjoyment will increase a lot if I don’t have to struggle with these irritating controls that have never worked enjoyably for me. I know I’m not the only one. The game has so much potential, I want to really like it. But this control fail is a real drag that stops it being a favorite. I can really start enjoying what it has to offer once my controls are in place. Key remappers like Glovepie etc. won’t even work because of the difficult defaults Otherland is still saddled with.
    Im glad at least the mouse vertical inversion lets me set it, and stays. Thumbs up for that.

    Please can you guys fix the rest of it? Its been a very long time coming.

    Hi Laith,
    The keybinds should work correctly. All buttons need to have a keybind though, so if you use a key that was already assigned, you need to assign a new one to the empty space. Is it possible that this is the underlying issue? Or can you successfully change the keybinding at some point but it doesn’t persist to your next game session?

    The menu’s binding system only partially works. Ive been able to bind target lock, show/hide weapon and select mouse invert to my preferences, and these setting actually STAY SET, as they should. Every other control lets you rebind in the menu, always pressing ‘apply’ before leaving the menu, but as soon as you exit the menu they just revert right back to the old defaults EVERY time….except for the three options I mentioned above. Those three options can be set, and stay that way for further sessions. None of the rest. Ever.

    I really just don’t get it! Hope we can make some progress around this. So looking forward to being able to play the game immersively because I wont have to be constantly distracted by awful controls.

    Laith, we discussed this again with the guys from Drago. They checked it again and it just works, so if every keybinding has a key assigned, there is no reason for it not to work. Unless something overwrites or resets the settings or just doesn’t allow the game to save them correctly. These settings are local, meaning they are saved in a file in My Documents.
    One of the developers remembered having a similar issues with another game on his work PC where My Documents isnt actually on his local drive, but linked within the operating system to OneDrive.
    Can you check if this is the case at your PC?

    Hi, Thanks! Yes, the local config folders got created upon first run at location C:\Users\me\Documents\My Games\OtherlandMMO . Win 7 64 bit. Now there is a new update, (which I like the look of) and a couple things you said gave me an idea, so I tried it. Deleted the local OtherlandMMO config folder from the path I mentioned above. Started the game, logged in then went through every control binding, setting them to what I want, like I have countless times before. Back to the game and it seems to be working exactly as I’d hoped! Still unsure what the issue ever was, but new update + what I did has worked so Im just going to play 🙂 Much appreciated!

    Thanks! Yes its really fun to play now. Don’t have to think one bit about input, so its immersive, as I wanted it 🙂 Or it WAS fun, for a while. Unfortunately, I only got a couple more hours in before I hit a total campaign breaking bug…….. But that’s going to require another thread.
